We are delighted to announce that React Fast First Aid will be using upgraded resuscitation training equipment in 2021. We have purchased four new Laerdal QCPR Little Annes. These manikins have feedback technology to improve CPR training quality, efficiency, and make CPR fun. Students and instructor can easily see if compressions are deep enough, are at the correct rate and and whether breaths are under or over-ventilating. We have also purchased two additional Little Juniors and Babies.
For Defibrillator training, we have purchased three different, full size AED trainers – a Laerdal Heartstart, a Zoll AED Plus and a Cardiac Science Powerheart G3. This is to allow students to practice with different machines. This builds confidence by showing them that all AEDs are similar and simple to use. By just following the voice prompts, anyone can use them, even without any training.
Lastly we have invested in four Actfast anti-Choking Vests – 2 adult and 2 junior ones. These allow students to practice back slaps and abdominal thrusts more realistically and effectively.
Nicky continues to work in the Covid vaccine team in Fife. The vaccine progress nationally over the last month has been amazing. If the current Covid recovery is maintained, it is hoped that React Fast First Aid will re-commence courses in April. In the meantime, please Stay Safe everyone.
